The Federal Government announced today that the G20 would be held in Toronto instead of Muskoka, immediately following the end of the G8 meetings on July 26th. There just aren't enough rooms at the inn around here to handle the enlarged entourage. It's not just the 20 world leaders; states with observer status raise the figure to 30 countries and it's estimated that those 30 countries require 10,000 hotel rooms -- far more that the total throughout Muskoka.
The G8 summit will still be held in Huntsville, although now the talks will be shortened by 1/2 a day to accommodate the move.
